It is of absolutely no surprise therefore that Dubai has the fastest growing population in the world.

More and more people emigrate to the city for quality of life, outstanding employment prospects and to experience the very best in the world of work and lifestyle.

One of the most immediate and attractive aspects of working in Dubai is that fact that there are no personal taxes levied against income from employment. This is not as an incentive to attract foreign investment; it is long established fact and policy because direct taxation is against the traditions of the entire United Arab Emirates.

This means that if you work in Dubai you will enjoy and benefit from your entire salary, you will have considerably more disposable income than you are used to, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of the offshore financial world and you will be able to afford a lifestyle that others can only dream of.

Many expatriate forums on the internet feature similar threads where those considering taking up an offer of employment in Dubai ask whether life really is as good as it looks and as good as the media portrays it in the Emirate, and time and again, without fail the answers will come back from expatriates who have already made Dubai home that 'yes, life really is as good as it gets!'

Booming industries in Dubai include telecommunications, information technology, construction, engineering, oil & gas, media and medicine and they all afford their employees significant disposable income. However, if you want to get the most out of your time in Dubai financially speaking you might like to consider the financial services industry.

Those who reside in Dubai are in a position to take complete advantage of all the offshore investment world has to offer them to make their hard earned tax-free income go even further. But they require the advice and on-going services of independent financial brokerages; therefore the wealth of opportunity available to good financial advisers is outstanding. As a result, the limited number of independent financial adviser positions available in the financial services industry in Dubai are highly prized.

For a financial brokerage to legitimately operate within the Emirate they have to be strictly licensed, this places a direct restriction on the number of brokerages who can operate there. Naturally enough this places a restriction on the number of adviser positions there are, but as stated the opportunities for an adviser are fantastic and the job is one worth aiming for if you consider yourself to be a dynamic sales-person, determined and driven by hard work, results and rewards.

When asked what to expect from working life in Dubai, there is no way to generalise. Working hours vary from industry to industry but are never exploitative, pay scales also vary depending on the nature of the job with manual work and lower ranking employment opportunities actually paying well because of the nature of the work involved. High ranking jobs and industries attract significant salaries as well as attractive benefits for staff. Issues relating to holiday entitlement, employee rights, overtime pay, sick and maternity leave are all well regulated, documented and strictly enforced meaning that the employee is generally very well looked after.

If you work in Dubai you are likely to enjoy an excellent working environment with modern, futuristically equipped spacious and comfortable office spaces, many dining opportunities and excellent transportation the norm across the city. After hours the expatriate can enjoy the shopping, nightlife, sports, recreational facilities, tours & excursions, outdoor activities and water sports Dubai is equally famous for.

Families relocating to the city will find rental accommodation fairly easy to secure and always of incredible quality, and since Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoom the crown prince of Dubai granted foreign property ownership rights back in 2002 those who are enjoying substantial tax free incomes can now buy their very own piece of the Emirate. Property in Dubai is not only currently widely available, of incredible quality and style but it is also an excellent commodity in investment terms with prices increasing significantly year on year and supply limited by the physical geographic restrictions of the city.

If you have children and would like them to be education in one of the many schools in the city, securing places can be tricky but not impossible. The educational standards are most definitely better than in most other schools worldwide, just as the medical facilities available in Dubai are some of the best in the world as well.

If you're considering Dubai for your next assignment what's stopping you taking the plunge?
Rhiannon Williamson writes about living, working, investing and buying property abroad on her site http://www.ShelterOffshore.com - and if you're specifically looking for work and jobs in Dubai, the living in Dubai section of the site will be useful to you.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Rhiannon_Williamson

http://EzineArticles.com/?Work-in-Dubai&id=29625

Jobs in Dubai - Career in The Healthcare Industry

Image via Wikipedia
By Deepika Bansal

Dubai, one of the seven emirates and capital of UAE, has the largest population. Being truly cosmopolitan, Dubai welcomes every one with open arms and is therefore regarded as the city of dreams for many desirous of getting here to earn and live.

While we admit that Dubai too has been hit by the recessionary effect that has taken the USA and Europe within its grasp, many are hopeful that the worst is over and prosperity will return to the Gulf next year. In other words, the hordes of expatriates that have left this year have reduced to a trickle and life is slowly returning to normal.

With life picking up in the emirate, some brave new souls have been returning to these shores. They are typically being seen looking at job opportunities in UAE or jobs opportunities Dubai. Quite a few have been disillusioned by job openings Dubai and would rather try out for job vacancies Abu Dhabi compared to job sites Dubai or job vacancies UAE. At the moment job sites Abu Dhabi is commanding more respect and followership than other UAE job openings, and definitely more than job websites Dubai. With economic, financial and business activity returning to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, people are happy and the number of advertisement placements in job vacancies Dubai, jobs Dubai and jobs Abu Dhabi has been registering moderate increases. Most of Dubai is made up of expatriates and one usually finds no problem in making new friends. Dubizzle is one of the famous portals in Dubai and Abu Dhabi where people find lots of things for their requirements for e.g. there is list of property, jobs, cars etc. You can find other daily necessary items in the portal which make the life easy and relaxing for many foreigners.

Another reason that Dubai is an attractive place to work and live is the benefit of a tax free income. Wages are paid without any tax deduction by the employer. In fact those seeking jobs in the fields of IT, finance, tourism or media will be astounded at the abundance of choices waiting for them. No wonder thousands of people come to Dubai each year to earn tax free salaries.

What is more, for those wishing to set up their own business, the Dubai Government offers a host of incentives to overseas businesses to successfully set themselves up in the free trade zone. There are currently 15 free trade zones, with the singular aim of helping foreign businesses to grow without corporate taxes or a mixed shareholding structure. One is required to hold a work permit and a residency visa in order to work in Dubai. Most employers arrange for these once the employee is appointed within the company. But clearly, life in Dubai shows many signs of improving and job prospects for 2010 may be definitely more rosy than expected. What a pleasant surprise!

About the Author:
Sim Whatley is a veteran opinion leader especially on the issues concerned with people wanting to live and work in Dubai. The free trade zones are where foreign businesses can establish themselves and grow without the restriction of corporate taxation for example and without having to submit to a local majority shareholding structure. As a direct result of all of the incentives offered to overseas businesses, take up in the free trade zones has been incredible and employment opportunities for foreign personnel are being created within them on a weekly basis.

To work in Dubai you require a work permit and a residency visa and the majority of employers arrange these for their expatriate work force when they appoint them. If you’re planning on travelling to Dubai to look for work you can enter the country on a temporary visa and then as soon as you secure employment you can apply for your work permit and visas. Rules relating to the period of time you can remain in the country on a temporary visa vary depending on the country you herald from and you should check with your local UAE embassy on rules that apply to you before you travel.

Most business in Dubai is done on a networking basis and so when you first arrive it can feel a little alien to have to immediately get out there and start introducing yourself to people. But don’t worry, you soon get used to it. Just make sure you have a pocketful of business cards to hand whenever you leave your accommodation as trading in business cards is the first step to successful networking!

Once you’ve settled into the different working hours in Dubai – many businesses close for a few hours in the afternoon and no local people take appointments on a Friday – and once you’ve settled into the fast pace of your social life you will begin to love your new surroundings. The quality of life achievable in Dubai for expatriates is quite possibly inimitable elsewhere as such emphasis has been placed on creating a paradise where foreign workers can work hard, play hard, live life to the full and experience everything in one day from skiing on an indoor slope to playing golf to diving to camel riding in the desert.

Expatriates make up 94% of the population in Dubai and as a direct result you can almost guarantee you’ll make friends very quickly and easily. The environment in Dubai is so multi cultural, open and free and there are a great deal of social clubs and events designed for people to meet up and make friends. The pay is much higher than an expat can get in his or her home country. Dubai is one of the more open cities in the Middle East. Located in the UAE the city of Dubai is a cross between Las Vegas and Disney world. With most of the other locations in the Middle East being much more conservative with laws that disallow the use, import or purchase of alcoholic beverages Dubai has plenty of night clubs and bars one can go to if they want to unwind on the weekends and have a few drinks. You can do pretty much anything you could do in any other place in the world from enjoying the night life to skiing at there indoor ski slope. This all comes at a price though. Dubai has a higher cost of living than most places an expat will find work.
Their apartment prices are some of the highest in the world and some landlords expect you to pay for the whole years rent up front rather than pay month to month like most other places. If you are going to take a job in Dubai make sure you stay out of debt because if you lose your job and still owe money to a Dubai business you will be put on a no fly list and be stuck in country until you can pay it off.

Apartment Prices

A lot of companies that will hire you to work in Dubai will either place you in company housing or give you a housing allowance. With the price of apartments so high in Dubai I do not suggest taking a job with a company that does not provide you a cost of living allowance or housing and a vehicle allowance. A furnished for room apartment will run you between $7,090 to $3,950 and a unfurnished three room apartment cost between $4,930 and $2,880. The UBS Prices and Earnings report for 2009 has $2,160 as the normal amount locals pay for rent. The most affordable housing in Dubai will be the smaller apartments and may cost the same as a bigger place in Middle Eastern country like Kuwait where you can get a three room villa with a huge second room set up to be an office for under $1,800. The average price for a Villa in Kuwait runs about $1,225 and you can find a two to three room apartment for around $875 and the pay in Kuwait is usually higher than the pay in Dubai. With the high cost of an apartment in Dubai if you are responsible for your own housing make sure your salary is high enough to cover the cost of your apartment and that living in a more liberal country is worth the extra money you will be forking out to live in Dubai.

Food Prices

Dubai is ranked as the 27th most expensive city to by groceries on the UBS report that covers the cost of living in 73 cities around the world. It is far cheaper than Tokyo that is ranked the most expensive city on the UBS report but is still a little on the high side compared to places like Brussels, Toronto, Sydney, and Bangkok.

Clothing

The cost of a Women's outfit including shoes is about $510 and a men's outfit is about $720 including shoes. These costs are a little over the global average according to the UBS report so if you have a cost of living allowance that more than covers your apartment and vehicle costs it should make up for any differences in the cost of clothing and Food prices.

Wages

The average wage in Dubai is about $10.10 an hour but with the cost of living in Dubai you will need to make much more than that if you want to be able to build up your savings or pay of debt and still have a comfortable standard of living. Having a cost of living allowance or company housing and a company car is pretty much a must if you are going to take a job here. The tax ramifications of working here is great with no local income taxes but there are plenty of costs tacked onto services in Dubai.

Services

The cost of Services in Dubai is higher than any of the other cities on the UBS report that polls 73 cities around the world. This cost can hit you pretty hard once you put all of the services you will use monthly like Cable, DSL, haircuts, dry cleaning and other similar services that you will use on a monthly or weekly basis.

Electronics and Appliances

When it comes to Electronics and Appliances in Dubai chances are the price tag on these items will be considerably cheaper in Dubai than where you are from. Unless you are from Mumbai, Jakarta, Bogota, Sofia, Santiago de Chile, Doha, Bucharest, Shanghai, Barcelona, Lisbon, Bangkok, Los Angeles, Delhi, or Miami these items are going to be cheaper in Dubai than your home country.

Transportation

The cost of transportation in Dubai is very low compared to most places around the world. A popular car, Honda Civic, costs about $17,400 and an annual registration cost of about $136 makes owning your own vehicle manageable in Dubai. With the low cost of $0.40 a liter for gas if you are able to swing owning your own vehicle the gas prices are going to be significantly lower than what you are paying in your home country or for most any other country you may decide to live in for that mater.

Public transportation is just as cheap when it comes to getting around in Dubai as the price for gas is if you are filing up your own vehicle. With a bus ticket only costing you about $0.73 for a 10 km journey or at least 10 stops and a taxi ride that will take you about 5km with in city limits for about $4.27 Dubai is on the low end of transportation costs on the list of 73 cities on the UBS report.

View from an Expat

With your ability to net your gross income the lack of income tax boosts the value of your salary compared to other countries around the world. If you are able to get your company to cover your housing and vehicle costs Dubai would not be a bad place to work in if you are making Middle East money. You have to be careful of companies out there who try to get you to work in Dubai for less than you are worth. Dubai may be a more liberal country where you will be able to enjoy pretty much the same things as you can in your home country but it is still in the Middle East. If you are looking to work in the Middle East so you can have a big pay check and can go without alcohol and night clubs Kuwait may be a better option for you. Chances are you will make more money in Kuwait and the cost of living will be a bit lower. If you are able to land a nice job in Dubai make sure you stay out of debt like mentioned in the beginning of the article. Dubai is not a place to be in debt when you lose your job. Stick to Credit cards from your home country and do not take out loans that you cannot pay in cash if you had to. If you take a vehicle loan and half way though you lose your job you better be able to pay the rest off or you may find yourself on a no fly list.

If you are interested in working overseas in Dubai go to our UAE Jobs page.

Prices are in USD (prices between March - April 2009)

Prices in Kuwait came from personal research done in Kuwait by the author

Research for this articles to gather prices of various living expenses in Dubai was done on the UBS Prices and Earnings 2009 report that can be found at UBS.com. While most Americans - and people of other countries as well - might think that these in Dubai are very different than those in the US and some European countries, in reality they are quite similar.

A prospective job applicant can find job listings and advertisements in the local newspaper and online; the jobs available that are almost exactly the same as those in the US; and the recruitment agencies in Dubai work the same way as they do in the US with some added, region-specific details.

For the most part, the employment agencies in Dubai operate the same way as similiar organizations in the US and other western countries. For potential job candidates, recruiters offer services like online application and information about available jobs. By registering with a recruitment agency, job seekers can view job openings and sometimes even post their resume with the agency online.

Many jobs in Dubai are in the construction and construction management fields. Other areas where jobs are plentiful are in financial services and hospitality.

The agencies will often review the applicant's skills and help them with their resumes so they can attract good companies. It is essential that you work with employment agencies in person in order to be accepted as a serious candidate. For the employers, recruitment agencies in Dubai assess potential candidates and advertise job openings. The biggest difference in the services supplied by the recruiters to the job applicants and the employers is that they often will offer visa services.

It is essential to have a work visa to work in another country, so most recruitment agencies in Dubai offer visa services to make the transition easier on their clients. Since Dubai-based agencies often place people in other Gulf countries, they work with visa often. When searching for a job through a recruiter, be careful that the job you are looking at is actually in Dubai; some jobs will be in other Gulf countries besides the United Arab Emirates: Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, Bahrain, Qatar, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.

Besides needing a work visa to be employed in Dubai, it is also important to know that in general, the work week is different than the western work week. In Dubai, the work week begins on Saturday and ends on Wednesday. In some private businesses, the week can start on Saturday or Sunday and end on Thursday. The reason for the different work week is that the Muslim holy day is Friday.

John Groth is a former HR executive and career coach. The UAE has not been immune to the global economic crisis and competition for available jobs is stiff. In addition, labor laws in the UAE can be confusing and seem to be in a constant flux. By educating themselves on the basics of UAE labor law, employees can avoid many common pitfalls that may arise during their time working in Dubai.

Rights that job seekers take for granted in their home country may not necessarily apply in Dubai. For example, there are no anti-discrimination laws in effect and employers can request anything from a certain nationality or age group to a certain appearance. There is also no minimum wage. An employee's nationality is often a determining factor in the amount of pay offered, with Europeans and Arabs on the higher end of the scale and Asians on the lower end. Because changing jobs in Dubai is not a straightforward process, it is a common (although illegal) practice for some employers to hold employee passports as security against absconding.

An expatriate's right to live and work in the UAE is tied to their sponsor, in this case the employer. Once a job seeker is hired, an employment contract will be signed. The contract is either fixed term or unlimited term. A fixed term contract means that there is a specified start date and end date. The contract cannot exceed three years, but can be renewed. Unlimited term contracts list a start date but are open-ended. They may be terminated by mutual consent or by either party giving 30 days notice. A new employee may undergo a probationary period of not more than six months. During this time the employee can be dismissed without reason or notice and he or she will not be entitled to any end of service benefits. Contracts may also include a competitive clause which states an employee cannot work for a competitor for up to two years.

Once a contract is signed the employee is legally bound to fulfill it. While laws regarding sponsorship have eased, allowing employees some movement between jobs if certain conditions are fulfilled, it still can be a challenging process. In most cases, in order to transfer to a new job the employee must complete one full year of service at their current position and obtain an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from their current employer. The NOC states that the employer releases the employee from any contractual obligations. If an employee's work permit is cancelled without the NOC, a six month ban will be issued against the employee.

This means that while they can reenter the UAE on a visit visa during the ban, they will not be issued a new work permit for six months. There are certain categories of workers who are exempt from these rules, including employees of government departments and Free Zone areas (such as Dubai Media City, Knowledge Village, and Internet City). Free Zone workers are not under an individual company's sponsorship, but under the sponsorship of the entire Free Zone area itself. As such, they can transfer to a new job within the same Free Zone without an NOC. Employees sponsored by their spouses also have greater freedom of movement between jobs.

While Dubai offers an exciting, multi-cultural work environment coupled with tax free income, employees do need to be aware of how job regulations can affect them. The government of Dubai is currently reviewing labor laws, particularly the six month ban rule, in light of the current global economy. Changes giving workers more rights and greater flexibility to move from one job to another may be on the horizon.

Ahmed Juma is a local UAE businessman and the owner of Emirates-Ads, a free UAE classifieds site with extensive listings of jobs in Dubai.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Ahmed_Juma
http://EzineArticles.com/?Dubai-Jobs---The-Impact-of-Labor-Laws&id=2457521

10 Best Work in Dubai, UAE Guides

Author: Worker In Dubai UAE

For a work in Dubai, one cannot always risk any problem to be encountered because labor laws in Dubai and in the Emirates as well are very strict. Your residency permit or visa will also be taken care of by the employer only. While the visa allows entry into Dubai, the permit facilitates the stay in Dubai. Dubai has a lot of foreign qualified population and there are many multinational companies that have set foot in Dubai. Even local companies are hiring qualified expatriates in different industries in different positions. Owing to this, nearly each office has a PRO department that takes care of the immigration formalities of the expatriates. To get a residency permit for Dubai, one needs to procure a few documents and do a few formalities. These are all generally taken care of by the employer.

Once an employer selects a foreign candidate for a particular job in Dubai, the responsibility of legally getting him into the city and getting him settled here is that of the employer. As per the contract signed with the employer, the employees’ residency permit, work permit and all other legal formalities related to immigration are taken care of by the employer. There are a few types of permit that may be granted for residency permission but for those relocating to take up a job in Dubai; it is the employer sponsored residence visa/permit that is required to stay in Dubai. If you are taking your family along, there is a family visa that you will need for that.

While the employer will take care of all the formalities and paperwork required for the residence permit, the individual still needs to carry out a few obligations. Firstly, the health cared has to be in place for which a medical check-up is required. Thus, you need to undergo medical tests. With the results of the medical check up, one need to approach the Immigration department for the residence permit while processing the residence permit for Dubai. Also, before coming to Dubai for a job, one needs to get all education certificates attested. It can be done by any government notary or a solicitor authorized to attest in your country. Once the documents area attested, the person who attested them has to be verified by the as being qualified by the foreign office of the country. It is always advisable to get all these formalities done before you travel to Dubai.

So, once your health card, education certificates and all other documents are ready, with a job offer in hand, getting a residence permit for Dubai should not be a difficult task. So, the running around with the Immigration Office is saved. The company takes care of all legalities. The company also pays for the processing fee that is involved in procuring the residency permit. For immigrants who come into the emirate to take up Dubai jobs, there are some rules that have to be strictly followed. For instance, one cannot leave the city for more than six months. With a booming US$ 37 billion economy, the country can easily provide countless opportunities for those in countries with less-promising job prospects.

One of the booming occupations presently available are for skilled pilots, in high demand by the local hub of national airline Emirates Airline, based at Dubai International Airport. A large number of pilots from around the world have taken up the numerous, lucrative positions provided those are largely unavailable in their home countries.

Also made available are jobs for financial workers, such as accountants, particularly since the recent trend of financial institutions moving their operations into the Middle East. The high demand created by this and other factors, leads to exorbitant compensation packages for those who take up one of the many openings. One particular case is that of a Chicago accountant who earns more than twice his previous salary now doing, more or less, the same work. He pulls in $250 K yearly, and also drives a Mercedes Benz his company provides.

Yet another opportunity, more general in prospects, is that for well-qualified persons to fill high-paying management positions in some of the new companies growing in the state, as well as in well-known companies who have set up hubs to take advantage of the bright financial position - such as Kraft Foods. These businesses have a huge need for many trained professionals and, as these are in great shortage in the region at this time, they turn to the more qualified foreigners who are all too eager to get a share of the seemingly impossible benefits associated with working in one of the few countries in the world that can honestly boast of a consistently "growing" economy.

There are also jobs for those less-skilled workers, such as those in the country's numerous oil companies, who have an ever-increasing need for manpower in order to turn a profit to one of the highest contributing individual industries to its mega-economy. Also available for the working class are jobs in tourism, ranging from hotel receptionists, to bagboys, room service attendants etc. Even these jobs can easily turn a six-figure salary in the right places.

To top it all off, Dubai holds a special attraction for fun-loving people with its numerous nightclubs and parties, yet another job opportunity for bartenders and other club staff, that provide good, more or less wholesome, relaxation after a hard day's work. It also offers some of the world's best restaurants that rival those at the top end in places like New York, but are easily affordable in such a wealthy country. All in all, a wonderful quality of life is standard in this little-known economic paradise. When a country this perfect opens its doors to foreigners, who would not want take advantage?

Dream Homes Worldwide offers properties in Dubai the exciting chance for you to invest in Dubai property and live in the lap of luxury as a permanent residence or vacation home.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Rakesh_Gaikwad
http://EzineArticles.com/?Top-Occupations-in-Dubai&id=1564328

The Many Mind-Blowing Benefits of a Dubai Job

By Sunil S.

You have probably heard about the craze around job opportunities in Dubai and how everyone and their little puppy dog want to move there? It's hard to avoid the chatter as more and more people are considering a Dubai career.

So why is everyone so lured to the region? The answer lies mainly in the benefits of a Dubai job. Dubai jobs are not like any other job in any other country. Because of the government's ambition and vision, they have and are going "out of their way" to attract the best and brightest from all around the world.

It is not easy to do that. Especially not in a land where there are so many fundamental differences in certain aspects of life such as culture, weather, religion, freedom, government and day to day lifestyle just to name a few. To overcome all that, Dubai jobs come with benefits that are far better than what I've seen anywhere else in the world.

Here are just a handful of those to give you a preview of how good it can get for you if you are educated and qualified. You also have an upper hand if you carry western (North America/Europe) corporate experience under your belt.

Taxes
A much bigger factor than what most people think or can remember. We are so used to just automatically paying part of our income in tax withholdings that we don't realize how big of a burden this can be (at least here in America). For someone making a good living from employment, the government "effectively" taxes at nearly 40% (State, Federal, City, FICA, etc). That means 40 cents of every dollar goes to your long lost relative Uncle SAM.

Did you know that if you work in America you work the first 3-4 months of the year for free? That is right. What you make from January to potentially April goes to the government. Only then you start filling your personal coffers. How sad is that?

So if I am making $120,000 annually, I am really only taking home $72,000. That is a healthy 48,000 I am paying in tax! That is $4,000 per month! What can you do with $4,000 extra dollars a month
Dubai has no personal income tax. You get to keep everything you make! Should I say that again?

Better Total Compensation Packages
To attract the best talent, Dubai jobs usually pay 20% higher on average. So not only will you save on taxes, but you will also make more on your top line salary (basic salary as they call it).
So take my scenario. If I get a 20% raise on $120,000, I am now making $144,000. I get to keep all of it as opposed to only $72,000 if I worked in the USA. So I am practically better off by $72,000. I just doubled my take home. That is a 100% raise!

Perks & Reimbursements
Here is a kicker for you. Put yourself in my shoes and imagine you are making $144,000 in Dubai. Now add to that housing allowance your employer gives you to pay for the sky rocketing rents.

Also add to that gasoline reimbursements for your commute, paid parking, at least one fully paid airfare back home to wherever you are from (this is per Dubai employment laws) and other bells and whistles. Add that on and you are looking at probably another $10,000 or so added to your salary.
Of course you have to negotiate all that. But like I said, if you are educated, qualified and especially if you have Western experience, you will most likely write your own ticket just like the scenario I have you. When it's good, it's real good.

Vacation
A Dubai job typically also comes with more vacation time. There are many holidays in Dubai as well that you get off from work in addition to your vacation days. It is not uncommon to get one month's leave from work on a yearly basis.

And did I mention free airline tickets for you and your family to go back home to whichever country you belong to? That is a very common perk negotiated along with the salary. It is almost unusual not to get it.

International Working Experience
How many times have you seen a job advertisement looking for International experience? How much is usually the starting salary? You are right; it is in very very high demand all around the world.
A job in Dubai will open the doors for you anywhere else in the world. You will be working with the brightest and best in Dubai and companies all around the world would be happy to hire you if you choose to.
Your experience is yours and you can take it anywhere you want to.

Quality of Life
Probably the most underrated benefit of a Dubai job is the quality of life that comes with your career. You will be working in some of the best buildings with state of the art facilities and architecture.
What you touch, sit on, play with will be much better than anything else you have seen. Automobiles are typically cheaper (compared to North America) too by a bit. It has to do with the relaxed trade laws, tariffs and duties.

Overall, it's just a better lifestyle (mainly for a young professional). There is a lot to do at night, several entertainment options such as shopping, the nightlife, restaurants, hotels, sports, you name it. You can learn more about everything Dubai has to offer you on www.Dubai-Information-Site.com.

The top 5 hottest jobs in Dubai:
Medical jobs in Dubai - Dubai's growing and continued focus has been healthcare. These people try to get jobs in UAE and actively seek them through various means.

Dubai, one of the richest and fastest growing cities in the UAE, is continually developing to an exciting, diverse, multi-cultural blend of young, vibrant, and professional people who are enjoying the unrivalled quality of life. This place has also recorded the fastest growth in population in the world, meaning more and more individuals who want a better life resulting from better careers are moving to Dubai each year.

Unemployment is very low and wide ranges of Dubai jobs are available as many businesses are cropping up and existing ones establishing a presence within the region. It is possible to find work in many different market sectors (financial, hospitality, technology, tourism, construction, engineering, computers, medical, etc.). Some of the popular employment agencies in Dubai are the Nadia, BAC Middle East, IQ Selection, SOS Recruitment, and Clarendon Parker, all of which primarily specialize in Dubai and UAE regions.

If you are among the millions who want to settle in Dubai and work there, you must familiarize yourself with the rules. That said, Dubai jobs do not involve tough constraints if you are educated and qualified enough. You will need to have a residential permit so you can apply for a labor card.

The labor card will let you obtain employment in the UAE while the residential permit (obtained in UAE) can legally sponsor you. A person can legally sponsor you if he/she is a relative of yours. A company who is going to employ you can also sponsor you.

Basically to stay in Dubai you must have a resident visa. You can get this either by buying property in Dubai or get your employer to be your sponsor. The later is quite common and usually a pretty smooth process. Over 80% of Dubai's population is made of immigrants just like you and I.

Let's talk requirements. A Dubai visa is the most important ones. All visitors, except GCC nationals, require a visa but free visit visas are issued to most nationalities as they enter Dubai. Some nationalities require visa so it is necessary to ensure yours before traveling.

If you are visiting Dubai for job hunting, you will need a Visit Visa for entering the UAE. Upon finding a job, you can transfer to a residence Visa by either re-entering the country or directly transferring it. Your employer/sponsor will know all about this.

The validity of a visit visa is 60 days (most cases). It can be renewed for a further 30 days upon paying a fee of Dhs 500 at the Department of Immigration (this is approximately $135 USD). A 'visa run' can be made as an alternative, which entails flying to Doha or Muscat at a cost of approximately Dhs 300 (about $80 USD), and re-entering Dubai on a new visit visa.

In case you have a job lined up for you, the company should have your visa application sent to the airport at the time of your arrival, where a residency visa will be stamped in your passport. Search for my article on "Dubai Visa" where I get into details about Dubai Visa requirements.

When planning to bring your family members to live with you in Dubai, you will need to get a family residence visa, which will allow you to sponsor your spouse, children, and parents. To have a family residence visa, remember that your salary must exceed Dhs. 4,000 a month. This should be no problem if you are in a professional white collar field.

All this stuff is great, but wait till you hear about the benefits involved in a Dubai job opportunity. Search for my article on the "Benefits of a Dubai Job" or visit www.Dubai-Information-Site.com to learn all about Dubai careers and job opportunities in Dubai.

The website is also the best and most comprehensive resource for all your Dubai job opportunity related questions. Look for my review on the Dubai Jobs book in the "book review" section of the website. It is by far the best and most practical and useful book written on how to get a job in Dubai.

Sunil is a co-founder of the Dubai City Information Site, the first & only comprehensive website on Dubai City presented from a fresh, practical & first hand perspective. The city and most of the region is in the midst of explosive growth, and as a result there are numerous job openings available there, a great many of them offered by multinational companies. It's no wonder then that many people are looking for nursing jobs in Dubai and the like to enrich their professional experience.

There is a plethora of settings for nurses who are considering working in Dubai. Hospitals, of course, are in need of nurses for their various departments: emergency room, intensive care, pediatrics, etc., as well as nursing directors and managers. Medical professionals with individual practices, such as dentists, employ nurses with the appropriate background and experience. Outside of hospitals, it isn't impossible for a foreign nurse to find employment among the many international companies with a presence in Dubai. One can work as a company nurse, a school nurse, or as a private nurse.

Another reason for the popularity of Dubai among foreign health industry workers and other professionals concerns remuneration. Salary packages and associated benefits are usually very attractive, with employers usually including paid leave as well as associated transportation costs in the job contract. In a number of cases, accommodations are also provided for free.

A nurse can find not only personal fulfillment from doing his or her job well, but enjoy working in a modern yet culturally diverse city such as Dubai.

For more information on how to find a job as a nurse in Dubai then check out their website here: http://www.expatinterviews.com/1/ Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Lizza_Vanderbilt

Jobs in Dubai - Finding Employment in the UAE

By Ahmed Juma

Many job hunters still believe that the streets of Dubai are paved with gold. This may be true to some extent - the economy is booming (particularly the construction industry) and Dubai is a tax free haven where net income is typically much higher than in other parts of the world. Even so, securing employment is not always easy. Approximately 80% of the population in Dubai consists of foreigners and competition for desired employment positions can be fierce. It is best to have an offer in hand from a company before traveling to Dubai. Of course this may not always be possible and there are certain advantages to entering Dubai on a visit visa in hopes of finding a job as opposed to searching from one's home country. For example, many employers will give preference to hiring someone actually in Dubai (and thus available for an interview), rather than having to endure the extra hassle and risk of hiring someone "sight unseen". However, there is no guarantee of landing a job before expiration of a visit visa, making a bit of luck and local contacts invaluable in the process.

Once a job seeker has secured a position, a contract will be signed and the employer will act as the "sponsor". The contract should include basic salary, job title and description, length of the contract, and termination conditions among other things. It is vital to negotiate a good "package" including salary, housing, and school fees if the employee has children. Other allowances may include coverage for medical, transportation, utilities, and / or annual vacation with an airplane ticket to one's home country. (The law stipulates that companies must provide a vacation / airplane ticket at least every two years). Each company is different and packages will vary. The work week also varies from company to company with some working "straight shift" and some working "split shift" (with a few hours break in the middle of the day).

The sponsor should handle all paperwork required by the government for foreign workers, including getting the employee an employment visa, health card, and labor card. A company's "PRO" (Public Relations Officer) will typically handle the logistics, ensuring all paperwork arrives at the necessary government offices for approval. First an employee's application is approved by the Ministry of Labor, then the employee undergoes a health screening, and finally all relevant documents are transferred to the Ministry of Interior who stamp the residence visa in the employee's passport. Employment visas are valid for a maximum of three years although they are renewable. In general, expatriate workers are not granted UAE citizenship or permanent residency. The Dubai government has taken steps to drive "Emiratization" of the workforce (stipulating that a fixed percentage of workers in certain industries must be UAE nationals and that all companies having 100 or more employees must hire UAE nationals as their PRO and/or Human Relations Manager). However, it is still believed that expatriate employees will make up a major part of the workforce in the UAE for years to come.

For those hoping to find jobs in Dubai, there are various avenues to take. There are several recruitment agencies with good reputations available to assist job hunters in their quest for employment, including long-standing companies such as Claredon Parker and Kershaw Leonard. As there are many recruitment agencies in operation, it is always advisable to do some research into their reputation and methods before using their services. Unfortunately it is not an uncommon occurrence for job seekers from poorer nations to drain their entire life savings and go into debt through payment to unscrupulous agents from their home countries who falsely promise visas and jobs. Fortunately, recruitment agencies in the UAE are regulated and must be licensed, so the potential for scams in the UAE itself is greatly reduced.

For those who choose to search online there is also a wealth of options and information available. Some excellent resources include employment sites such as Bayt.com or GulfTalent.com, directories such as GulfJobsSites.com, as well as free online classifieds sites which list jobs in Dubai.

Ahmed Juma is a local UAE businessman and the owner of Emirates-Ads, a free Dubai classifieds site with extensive listings for jobs, property for sale and accommodation for rent, used cars, and used furniture for sale in the United Arab Emirates. Or perhaps the chance to work in the world's tallest hotel? If those possibilities sound enticing then you should consider looking for hotel jobs in Dubai, where those structures and more are in various states of construction.

You'd think that with all the hotels already in existence in Dubai, there wouldn't be room for any more. But the emirate's tourism industry is exploding at such a pace that there's still a shortage of accommodations. In fact, government officials are targeting the addition of 22,000 more hotel rooms by the end of 2008.

So if you want to work in a hotel that looks like a sail (the Burj Al Arab Hotel, also the world's tallest hotel) or in a hotel strip that will eventually contain almost 30.000 hotel rooms (the Bawadi Project), then better start perking up your resumé. After all, with Dubai rushing headlong to the forefront of the region's tourism industry, you can expect to find fierce competition for hotel jobs there despite the numerous openings.

Consider the following to help improve your chances of working in a Dubai hotel:
-Know your options. Do your research by finding out which hotels in Dubai are hiring and if they have openings for which you can apply.
-Know your ideal hotel job. Which hotel department would be best for you considering your skills and talents? If you have experience as a chef, enhance your reputation by perhaps joining cooking competitions or expanding your culinary expertise. Such achievements would look great on your CV.
-Network, network, network! Use social networking sites like FaceBook and LinkedIn publicize your skills and achievements.

There are many other factors that can help increase your chances of working at a hotel job in Dubai or maybe an accounting job in Dubai would be a good career opportunity for you. There is no income tax in Dubai although occasionally the possibility is discussed.

Non payment of wages and salaries:
A non payment of salaries is an issue that is rarely resolved in favor of the employee. Management in Dubai jobs are well aware of the poor reputation of some companies and sectors for not paying their workers. The employee can file a complain with the UAE Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. There is a procedure to follow and claims are investigated with companies being penalized by being blacklisted from hiring workers. Many non payment complaints are resolved in favor of the worker but sometimes a case can drag on for months.

Hours of Work and Holidays:
Most jobs in UAE are 5 days, 5 and a half or 6 days /week. Public holidays come into two varieties: fixed (e.g. Eid, 01 January etc.) and actual days (not announced depends on the moon sights. Like Moharram.).

Employee Dressing in Dubai:
For office jobs in Dubai, men should wear a tie but a jacket is not so common. Women can wear much the same in a comparable job in a western country. Natural fibers are more suitable for the hot Dubai climate.

Employee Verbal Communication in Dubai:
Arabic is the official language of UAE but English is the common denominator amongst the many different nationalities working in jobs in Dubai, at least in the private sectors. It is useful for the employee to be able to speak Arabic but not essential for most jobs.

Bayrozgar helps organizations to find right individuals for their job openings. Some of the countries with the biggest call center operations include India, the Philippines, Hungary and the Czech Republic. Dubai, too, has a burgeoninc call center industry, and this is growing along with the rest of the city's other industries.

Business process outsourcing or BPO means just that: outsourcing a business process such as certain customer services. The job doesn't require extensive educational and professional experience; in fact, it's a good entry point into the information technology industry for most people. And it doesn't pay badly either; salaries for call centre agents in Dubai can range from 2,000 to 8,000 dirhams monthly. But be realistic; if you're new to the profession you can't expect to receive top-tier salaries - even in Dubai. However, there are other perks that can come with the job, not the least of which are health insurance and generous leave or time off. Plus, of course, there's the added thrill of working in a foreign country, and in a city that is in the midst of so much growth.

There are more than a few call center companies in Dubai that are hiring both foreign and local agents. Some of these call centres require their agents to be fluent in Arabic as well as in English; but even if you don't speak Arabic there's no reason why you should scrap your plans for finding a job there. Fluency in written and spoken English will serve you well since there are many call centers in Dubai who provide services for companies that have only English-speaking customers. A call center agent's job of interacting with these customers won't really require them to be fluent in a language other than English.

There are many other aspects of finding and getting a call centre job in Dubai. If you do your research - and it's much easier to accomplish that now, thanks to the Internet - and work on your communication and problem-solving skills, you'll find it easier to call Dubai your new workplace.

If you want to cultivate new work skills or expand the ones you already have, it might be a good idea to consider working in Dubai for that. Whether you want to explore hotel jobs in Dubai or get your feet wet in the VoIP industry by applying for call call center jobs in Dubai, there are resources such as this article to help you out.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Lizza_Vanderbilt

Hotel Jobs in Dubai Are Great Career Opportunities For Expats

By Lizza Vanderbilt

You won't have to worry too much about being a foreign worker in a strange land, anxious about standing out since most of Dubai's workforce is composed of expats anyway. Do you want in a hotel in Dubai? Then consider the following tips to improve your chances.

- Do your research. Read up on which hotels or resorts have job vacancies by searching the Internet or hotel industry-related magazines. Classified ads usually describe what the job involves, so you don't have to waste time trying to figure out whether you'll be right for a certain position. You can submit your CV or resume to hotel websites or to job agencies. However, make sure that the recruitment agency you are doing business with is a legitimate, licensed company or organization. There are so many scammers out there who will charge you a placement fee and then disappear once you give them your money.

- Broaden your horizons. If you have past experience as a valet, why not consider something slightly different, like being part of the front desk reception staff? But don't get carried away; you can't expect to be considered for the position of executive chef if your background in the hotel industry is in housekeeping. If you want a higher-paying hotel job, make sure you have the necessary qualifications for your application to be considered seriously.

- Remain open-minded about job positions. Did you know that members of a hotel's service staff make a lot of money even if they aren't paid large salaries? This is because they receive plenty of tips from guests, or enjoy a share of a hotel's service charge. These extras add up to a sizable amount, so much so that their wages seem insignificant in comparison. If a management position is your ultimate goal, then you can always work your way up.

- Learn the ins and outs of living and working in Dubai. Don't make the mistake of thinking that you can act in any way you see fit in any given situation. For all its modernity and cosmopolitan feel, Dubai is still an Islamic nation (though perhaps one of the least rigorous), and there are rules and procedures concerning behavior that should be observed and followed. You shouldn't be ignorant about local customs and etiquette; it might breed ill will and cost you your job. One of the best things you can do is to read about the experiences of expats who are already living and working in Dubai. It is found to be a strategic location at the heart of the world’s richest region by many multi-national companies. The Dubai economy is served by more than 170 shipping lines and 86 airlines. Most of the business operations deal with trade, transportation, tourism, distribution, consulting and processing.

Labor law is protective of employees. It governs hours of work, leave, termination rights, medical benefits and repatriation. Employment for foreigners is on a contract basis. Vacations generally follow the rule of 21 days for every year of the first five years of service and 30 days for every year thereafter. The total gratuity will not exceed two years' wages. Vacations can also be pro-rated after the first year. Trade unions do not exist.

The normal working hours are eight per day or 48 per week. However, these hours may be increased to nine daily for people working in the retail trade, hotels and similar establishments. Difficult or dangerous jobs carry shorter workweeks. Many businesses work on a two-shift system. As in all Muslim countries, Friday is the weekly day of rest. Private companies work 40-45 hours a week and government bodies about 35. During the holy month of Ramadan working hours are usually reduced by about two hours a day. The weekend has traditionally been Thursday afternoon and Friday, but a number of organizations have changed to a five-day week with Friday and Saturday as the weekend.

Dubai provides detailed information on Dubai, Dubai Hotels, Cheap Flights Dubai, Dubai Jobs and more. Dubai has become a hot spot for opportunity in the Middle East as well as internationally, and because of that, the job market has raised the bar for talent and prospective employees. Of those, the Dubai work force is made up in large part of Lebanese, American, Indian, French, English, Philippines, and Russian nationals to name a few; all of which are highly skilled, highly educated, adaptable, multilingual, and as dynamic as Dubai itself. After all they are indistinguishable.

Dubai’s natural resource is natural gas, which feeds the large and healthy petrochemical industry. Auxiliary industries to benefit from petrochemical jobs in Dubai are those jobs to be found in retail, marketing, advertising and tourism. Your job or career in Dubai will be as good as the visa stamped in your passport.

Even though all this may sound a bit limiting, in many cases the upside can be big. According to UAE law, if you are hired from outside the UAE, your company must provide you with travel to and from the UAE. Further to that, the company must provide you with travel to and from your “homebase”, or the country of origin, at least once a year. In most cases the employer will reimburse the amount of the travel cost if you choose not to take the trip home.

In the event that you are let go, your employer is required by law to give you notice of 30 days. Even though UAE employee, or ex-employee, laws may not be as protective as other countries, it has become standard practice that most companies operating in Dubai and UAE will compensate the employee a gratuity of up to one month per year of employment with the company in the event of termination, which is quite impressive in comparison with other countries.

In the welcomed event you are interviewed for that dream job, be sure to ask about your prospective employer’s health insurance and benefits, vacation and leave program, working hours, weekend schedules, gratuity, maternity/paternity rights, transportation and housing allowances.

Start your Dubai Job Search Now

Finding that dream job in Dubai means having to find your place in a complex web of interrelated and interdependent nationalities, cultures, ethics, and work styles. Thanks to insider informations we are able to collect significant informations which lead you towards finding a job in Dubai.

Why is Dubai becomes a magnet to all job seekers and immigrants alike? What is it in Dubai which makes it different from all the developing countries? What Dubai can offer to you?

Well for a start, Dubai is home to an exciting, diverse, multi-cultural blend of young, dynamic and professional people all enjoying the unrivalled quality of life the Emirate has to offer.

If you have children and would like them to be educated in one of the many schools in the city, securing places can be tricky but not impossible. The educational standards are most definitely better than in most other schools worldwide, just as the medical facilities available in Dubai are some of the best in the world as well.
